Where Dedication Meets Real Results
Founder & Head Coach
Started this place back in 2015 after spending way too many years in corporate gyms that just didn't get it. You know the type - lots of mirrors and machines, but nobody actually teaching proper movement. I'd been coaching Olympic lifts on the side for about a decade, working with everyone from weekend warriors to national-level competitors. Finally said screw it, let's do this right.
Been a certified strength coach since 2008, got my CSCS and USA Weightlifting Level 3 cert. Competed nationally in the 85kg class for six years - never made it to the top, but learned a hell of a lot about what actually works versus what sounds good on paper. That real-world experience is what I bring to every session here.
Look, we're not gonna promise you'll get shredded in 30 days or deadlift 500lbs by next month. That's nonsense. What we will do is teach you proper technique, build strength that matters, and help you move better than you did yesterday.
The name Krython Veil comes from this idea of uncovering what's already there. You've got more strength and capability than you think - it's just hidden under bad habits, poor movement patterns, and maybe some myths you picked up from fitness magazines. Our job isn't to transform you into someone else. It's to strip away the BS and reveal what you're actually capable of.
We specialize in the hard stuff - Olympic lifting, serious strength work, athletic conditioning that'll make you question your choices halfway through. But we also know when to back off, how to modify for injuries, and that life happens. Miss a week? No guilt trips here. Just get back in and we'll pick up where we left off.
Opened with just 800 square feet and 6 barbells. Had about 20 members who believed in what we were doing.
Took 8 lifters to provincials. Three medaled. That's when we knew we were onto something real.
Moved to our current spot on Burrard. Tripled the training area, added dedicated mobility zones and proper coaching platforms.
Brought in Sarah and our mobility program. Turns out lifting heavy works way better when you can actually move properly.
Added Jamie to handle nutrition consulting. Because you can't out-train a garbage diet, no matter how hard you try.
Now we've got 4 full-time coaches, over 200 members, and we're still figuring out new ways to help people get stronger.
People who've been in the trenches and know what actually works
Come check out the facility, meet the coaches, and let's figure out if we're a good fit. No pressure, no sales pitch - just honest conversation about your goals.
